Senior Pastor
Dominick “Aaron” Lopez is a native of Jourdanton, Texas who has been preaching since 2015 and serving in pastoral ministry since 2018. In August 2026, he began serving as our Senior Pastor. Having grown up in this community, Aaron is grateful for the opportunity to serve the people and families of Jourdanton through the ministry of the local church.
Prior to coming to First Baptist, Aaron served as Senior Pastor of Pandora Baptist Church and as Associate Pastor at El Calvario Baptist Church in Jourdanton. He studied at the Baptist University of the Americas (BUA), earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical and Theological Studies with a minor in Cross-Cultural Communications, and later received his Master of Divinity degree from Hardin-Simmons University.
Aaron is called to serve as a co-vocational pastor. He previously served for six years as a Caseworker/Investigator with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and currently works as a Lab Technician at San Miguel Electric Cooperative.
Aaron has a passion for faithfully preaching God’s Word and helping people grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Aaron and his wife, Sabrina, have been married since 2015 and are raising their three sons—Nehemiah, Elias, and Ezekiel. As a family, they enjoy watching their boys play sports, movie nights, cooking out, staying active, and spending time with family and friends.

Worth, TX, they were called to work as house parents for missionary kids for the International Christian Academy, in Cote d’Ivoire, Africa for 14 years.
Upon returning, he served as the Pastor of Worship Ministries and Director of Global Outreach in Montana. In 2010, they returned to West Africa to serve at Dakar Academy. With only a year intermission in the US, they led the International Church of Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan, from 2014-20.
